Scrap
Artz Instructor: Susan Jester.
There has never been a time in my life that I didn't have several
art projects going at once. Although I am an avid knitter and fiber
artist, my first love is paper arts: bookbinding, visual journaling,
stamping, scrapping, collaging. I worked as a Craft Coordinator for
Ben Franklin Crafts & Frames for four years-teaching classes,
appearing on their TV show and creating samples for the stores.
I left Ben Franklin to become Mommy to our twins, and we live in
Montpelier with my husband Jason (who sighs occasionally but in general
encourages me in my creative pursuits), my Mom (who gave me my first
colored pencils and knitting needles) and our four dogs and three
cats (who like to make stuff, too). I am thrilled to be teaching at

Hello!
My name is Dee Tunstall. I have been scrapping for about three years,
and I love it! It is the one thing that truly relaxes me.
The feeling I get when paper, pictures and embellishments all come
together is like no other! I am looking forward to being a member
of the Scrap Artz design team and the creative challenges it will
present.
I live in Mechanicsville, VA with my husband, Greg, our daughter,
Madison (8) (who are both always interested in seeing the new
layouts I have created) and our dog, Timmy – the most adorable
Shih-Tzu companion ever! I am an Executive Assistant in the Law
Department at Dominion Resources Services, and I enjoy reading,
music, decorating, baseball (Go Yankees!) and am obsessive about
organizing (and re-organizing) my scrapbook supplies.
Enough about me – now go create

Susie Weaver – Sales Associate
“I don’t remember a time, even as a child, when
I didn’t have some “project” that involved paper,
scissors, glue, pencils, and ‘colors’, as well as other
various artsy and crafty things. As a teenager, I created my first
‘scrapbooks.’ Eight years ago, on National Scrapbook Day,
I discovered what preserving memories was really all about. I’ve
been hooked ever since. When I had the opportunity to work in a scrapbooking
store, I remember telling my husband that I had just found my ‘dream
job.’ In addition to working in the midst of exciting and beautiful
products at Scrap Artz, I have the opportunity to learn from and to
assist my customers in their scrapbooking adventures . Now that’s
a great gig!” Susie lives in Hanover County, is married, the
mother of three grown children, and a grandmother. |

A
native of New York, Robin Walton has had a life long love for art.
Paint, pens, ink and sketch pads were always by her side as she and
her husband Ernie raised two children, both of whom are now studying
architecture at the University of Virginia.
Her children;s departure to college left Robin ready for this new
adventure — the creation of Scrap Artz, Hanover
County's premier shop for scrapbooking and paper artists of all levels.
Scrap Artz is Robin's third business venture. After owning a thriving
business in Philadelphia's historic Society Hill area, she came to
Virginia with her husband's job transfer in 1991. Robin recently handled
merchandising and designed retail displays for a scrapbooking shop
in Richmond. She soon realized the need for a new exciting scrapbooking
store that would bring creative friends together. With a focus on
new offers, an array of the latest paper lines and all kinds of new
design mediums, Scrap Artz offers an environment that inspires creativity
for those first getting their feet wet as well as experienced scrappers.
Robin's creative specialty includes the areas art of collage, multi-media
art and altered art. Classes and programs at the store will reflect
these interests. |
